Hello everybody, I've been a long time reader and a general information gatherer over the past years. I fell in love with the idea of a Factory Five Roadster in the late 90's. At the time I was building a 1969 mustang convertible (keep in mind I was 19 years old at the time).
Fast forward about 20 years:
I have built and still own my 1969 Mustang Convertible which features a highly built 302 with DART heads, 12:1 CR and all the related parts. This runs through a T-5Z and a 9" rear with 4:10s
I have built and still own my grandfather's 1962 Falcon Ranchero which features a highly built 302 with MegaSquirt EFI, but aluminum heads and lower CR (was twin tubro, but just NA right now). This runs through a T-5Z and a 8" rear with 3:80s
I have purchased and slightly built a new 2015 Mustang GT, Performance Pack. Headers, intake, tune and other minor stuff (this is my good weather daily driver)
I have purchased and slightly built a new 2015 F150 Coyote, 4x4, 3.55s, leveled with 37" tires (this is my fishing rig and poor weather daily driver)

On to the exciting part.
Two weeks I go I placed my order for a FFR roadster MKIV base kit with the 2015 mustang IRS option and some other stuff.
My plan as it stands is to transplant the 302/T-5 combo from my convertible into the FFR. I have found a totaled 2016 mustang GT which I plan on removing the coyote motor and trans and setting aside for the convertible. I will be utilizing all of the IRS pieces for the roadster.
I will be ordering the missing donor pieces directly from FFR (cooling system, pedal box, control arms and spindles and upgrading to the Wilwood brakes)
My build date is scheduled for 4/21 and I can't wait. The last two weekends was spent doing some wishlist items to the ranchero and mustang in preparation for the new stable mate!

Congratulations, sounds like you have plenty of experience, unlike myself but I welcome the challenge. The next 8 weeks or so until your kit is delivered is gonna feel like 8 months. Mine should be arriving here in Frisco, TX the first week of April and it's felt like an eternity so far.

I know the feeling! I built/ordered my 2015 GT from Ford and had to wait 8 weeks. It was torture. I'm really looking forward to the FFR build. I'm excited at the thought that there will (should) be minimal parts fabrication from scratch. When building my ranchero, I had to fabricate a number of parts from scratch to make the modern components work well.
