I bought the front air ducts and the mesh screens from ********** about a year ago. Just putting them up to the body to check fit for the first time. They are about an inch taller and wider than the opening in the body. Might just be a illusion in photos but I thought these were supposed to fit to the body openings fairly snug. People have written about installing these with just silicone so I'm wondering if I need to trim these or if there might be different sizes for the earlier bodies?
What cha think?

Hi Steve. They are "oversized" as compared to the body opening, but with the screen inserted, not quite so much. I did have to grind down the duct/screen lips to match the contour of the body, mainly around the upper and lower edges. I used three (number 8's I think, maybe # 6's) screws on the inboard edges, and one on the outboard edge to mount them. I suppose HSRF could be used to make them permanent, but I didn't want that. I don't know about any other sets, except the set I had from a Cobra Earl's set seemed to be about the same size. The seem sloppy, but once you get the edge to match the body mold line, they sit pretty well.

I have a set and I also trimmed them to fit. I used Bostik black adhesive to secure them.

Thank you! Photos confirm what I thought needed to be done but I wanted to make sure I had the right parts befor I started shaping.

Steve, if you don't want to use fasteners (I have an aversion to unnecessary fasteners) and you want to install them permanently, I would recommend M-1 adhesive sealant. We sell it on our website and have used it mount brackets to the inside of the fiberglass body of our type 65. It is all that holds the back end in place.
