View Full Version : How much Brake Pressure should I have?

I have a Coupe with a depowered '93 master cylinder (new) and the '94 disc brakes (rebuilt) all around. I have no leaks, I have the pedal mod for manual brakes, and I am not using the distribution block or a proportioning valve.

If I put a gauge on my brakes, how much pressure should I see at the wheels? I see comments online that 1000 psi is a generally desirable figure.

I haven't routinely driven a car with manual brakes, but the pedal pressure needed seems high even for manual brakes. I'll be getting a gauge to help me figure out if the pressure is even at all of the corners, and figured I might as well find out if the pressure is sufficient.

Any words of wisdom here? Thanks!

I don't know what the normal pressure should be, but we generally sugguest running a 94-95 C*bra mustang master cylinder without the mustang distribution block for cars with disc brakes all around. The 93' fox mustang master cylinder requires more pedal effort than the 94-95 c*bra master.
