Hey all,

Good friends have a boat that is very off the hook and we were lucky enough to spend some time on it this weekend. My buddy, Steve, is a fanatic about his stuff (I'll pics of his very custom chopper at some point). Essentially, each time they're out in the boat, he spends about a half hour in the engine compartment alone with Windex wiping the engines down. It's truly a work of art and they've customized almost every inch of it.

Anyway, I thought you guys might like to have a look.

It's a 38 foot Scarab offshore racing boat. The engines are custom built 540ci big block Chevrolets. Dry sump'd with 1071 blowers and twin Dominators. They're 970hp PER SIDE. (they were shooting for 1000hp per side but what do we want from pump gas!) It has surface drives. :D

The boat will do 105mph on the GPS and he promises that the next time we're going out, we're going to tie everything down well and bust 100 on the water. It's on my bucket list.

Here are some pictures:

I wish I had a bucket of money to spend on a boat, I like that boat a whole bunch.

Good mighty joe friday that is CRAZYYYYYYYY! You need to steal those engines and squeeze them into your roadster.

Have fun, and keep the throttle wide open at all times! ;)

I keep thinking about Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack; "Hey, there's my buddy" followed by mayhem on the water.

On a well designed boat 100 mph isn't that hairy of a ride. I've been 97 mph on GPS on the Colorado river in my friend single engined cat and the ride was smooth as glass. Plenty of wind in your face.
