Has anyone here using the crate motor/trans/ford control pack ran their fuel tank vent all the way up and use the Evap emission control system as designed? The valve is in place in the motor/trans control pack kit. I am wondering if it is still functioning in the ecu or has been cleaned out with other obd-2 functions. It would be nice to be able to truly vent the fuel tank (maybe using a 2015+mustang carbon canister) and completely alleviate gas fumes and make ethanol spiked gas safer to run.

Its been half a dozen years since installing my Coyote in the MkIV, but I tend to remember I physically removed the valve and blocked the port. Did not use and it had no impact or bearing on how the engine ran.

The evap purge solenoid on the throttle body is wired. It seems easy to wire the canister vent solenoid.
As for function, only a tuner can tell and set what the control pack is actually doing with these controls. From what I can tell, all obd2 functions are still in the control pack. There are just enabled/diasbled.

Talked w/ Steve from Ford Performance Tech line this morning and he said the crate engine PCM has the Evap Emission Purge valve disabled. A tuner can go in and turn it on. I think on my engine I'm going to just plug it and install a charcoal canister vented to atmosphere.

Thanks, mr Jim. I’m going to use a charcoal canister but I think I’m going to have the tuner turn that on eventually and tube it up.
