I was dreading the work that I know was involved in making the lower dash mold. I finally bit the bullet and made the mold yesterday. I worked on the final prep and did the fiberglass work. I worked on it for ten hours with a 1/2 hour break for lunch. It was a lot of work and I know there is much work ahead, but I really think it will be worth the work when the dash is finished. Here are the pics so it really did happen.

Wow!! What talent! And to think I'm concerned about extending a fiberglass edge here and there or maybe at the most doing a recessed license plate. Very nice. :)

Thanks for all the nice comments.
It is people like Russ, Scott and Kerry who help keep me going in my project. It has taken a life of it's own. It was Russ who's awesome build gave me the idea for doing something different with my coupe. Seeing the quality of his coupe made me hope that I could do something as nice. It was Kerry who was generous with his time to help me do all the fiberglass work. I picked his brains more than once. It was also nice to scope out ideas on how to make changes to the car. I still have the pizza menu where Kerry sketched out the changes that I made to the rear fenders. It was also nice to meet other great coupe owners like Scott so we can share our experiences with the straight jackets we all have.
I took inspiration and ideas from many coupe builders. I hope that I inspire other coupe builders with my blog. I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and I have removed a couple of straps on the jacket.
Kerry,
Don't worry, you will be coming back to NS. I have the money set aside for two plane tickets. After all this work on the car, I don't trust anyone else but you to do the paint job. And it was your idea for the paint anyway.

Ron,
Thanks for sharing this great work. I encountered your blog a few years ago when I started researching these cars. It certainly did inspire me (among others, I'm sure). I now have a Coupe, am building and modifying it in earnest, and am enjoying every minute of it. I appreciate the efforts that you and others have made to share your work and ideas - they make this experience that much more enriching.

How close would the $$$ set aside to get me (and some of equipment) up there go toward getting you guys down to my booth? It would be nice to work with optimum conditions. You can play golf in Branson while you guys are here and there are a few toys we can take out too.

Would like too, but too much hassle at the border. If you want, I can try and find a local paint booth.

Ron, if you drove it down unpainted and back with paint, I doubt that the border would pick up on that :)
Nice work, I like watching you come up with new ideas.

The final piece from the mold is made and trimmed. Now there is just detailing and some fixes to be made.

I also fitted the "Start Engine" button. It came from a Ford GT.
