FFR Tech,
Came across several issues this weekend.
1. While completing my engine/transmission ('04 Mach 1 DOHC/Tremec 3650) install into my Mk 4 # 7329 (picked up from the factory on Sept 25, 2010) yesterday, ran into a problem with the transmission mount. I was able to bolt the A frame at the apex to both the frame and the modified transmission mount, but there was nothing to bolt the base of the legs to. A post on ffcars.com today resulted in a reply with pics which confirmed my suspicion that my chassis is missing brackets on the main tubes to which the A frame is supposed to be bolted. How do we resolve this? I neither own a welder, nor do I know anyone who does.
2. Far less critical, I discovered that the mounting posts for the 4 red tail lights and 2 amber front turn signal lights are all spaced 1 6/8" apart. However, all the holes in my body are drilled 1 7/8" apart. Is this by intent? What is the preferred fix: slot 1 hole or both; fill one hole and redrill?
Thanks in advance,
Rick
