Do I have the correct switch for the rear brake lights? The switch has two spades off the back but the connector from The Ron Francis harness does not allow for both spades to fit into the switch.

Thanks Craig

Hi Craig,

Yes you have the right switch. The connector on the RF harness is for a different type (obviously), so it doesn't fit. Cut the connector off the harness and crimp/heat shrink a pair of 1/4" female spade connectors onto the wires. Then you can easily make the connection. It doesn't matter which wire goes to which side on the switch.

One other thing: If you have EFI, you may have an additional wire that has to go to the switch. Check your EFI documentation carefully to make sure you connect that EFI wire to the correct spade connector.

I do have EfI. 1997 4.6L DOHC. I will check and thanks for the help. Really appreciate it.

4.6 DOHC does not need an input from the brake switch.
