65 Coupe rear brakes pads not fully aligned on outside of the rear rotors

I’ve heard that there are shims that can be placed somewhere to correct the angle of the pads on the rotors? Does anyone have any insight or direction to help?

we need to know what brakes you have. There are at least 4 or 5 types that are commonly used and the set up is different for them all. pictures help too
