Can someone confirm which is the correct mount hole for the front Koni Coilovers on the Mk4 Roadster? (see attached photo)

The manual (on page 93) instructs to "fasten the shock to the top mount with fasteners and 0.675" spacers provided and torque both upper and lower mounts to 40 ft-lbs".

Most of the photos I've scoured on this forum show 1 hole, so is the obvious upper really the upper?

Comments on why there are two upper mount holes are welcomed.

My specs: I am using a 1994 Ford stock lower control arm (modified as per manual, using the inner bolt holes), FFR upper arm (as supplied in base kit) and the FFR Koni Front Coilovers.

This was just answered in this thread: http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?27136-Front-Koni-Shock-mounts-changed

That thread didn't help much. I spoke with FFR, and the lower of the upper mount holes are for the standard red Konis, whereas the the upper mount hole is for the silver bodied dual adjustable Koni’s.

Actually the answer you received from FFR is what I said in post #3 of that thread. Admittedly, it was an educated guess. But good to know that was it.
