Opinion on use of PayPal

Just curious about everyones opinion on use of PayPal. I have never had issues with it, either with purchasing or sending payments. Also no issues with using a credit card via the guest pass option.
I use this for purchases on my website. I just want to make sure that no issues exist.

Just curious, I would appreciate honest opinions please.

As a business owner that until recently accepted Visa/Mastercard and Amex, I can tell you that the fees incurred as a business were killing us.We now only accept those payments through PayPal and it's a straight 3% on purchases. Much better than what we were paying and we have never had an issue with PayPal.

I use Paypal regularly as a buyer but I don't fully trust them and only buy using my credit card. Worst case I can go to my credit card company. So far I haven't had any problems. Still, for any large purchase I'll avoid Paypal and use another method.


A few years ago a friend of mine used to import motors and parts from Japan for the JDM tuner crowd. Being a sketchy crowd to begin with, many of these folks would lie about receipt or quality of motors and parts. Most of the time Paypal never did any fact checking and would just decide in favor of the buyer. My friend had a fairly ruthless way of dealing with it that would usually leave Paypal or the buyer (buyer usually) holding the bag. It made me very wary of Paypal as a buyer but even more as a seller since I don't think I could do what he did.

We used it for the Car club I used to help run, Crossfire Intl. It works fine, even used for our store. I've not had a problem with it.
