Any 2017 MK4's with 2015 IRS in Northern Virginia?

I'd like to design a new battery box that will fit in the newer MK4 chassis with the updated 2015 independent rear suspension in the Northern Virginia area (I live in Manassas). I'm tired of telling people that my FFmetal battery boxes won't fit in their car.

Hi Bill. NW Ohio here. Hate to tell you that I have the FFMetals battery box in my Mk4 with 2015 IRS. I did have to remove a little metal from the forward corners to clear the center section. Not to big a deal. Works nice in there. It is a tight fit though. Good luck.

Yeah, FFR changed their Mk4/IRS chassis design sometime in the first half of 2017. Some had and 1" tubular brace above the diff, and some didn't. Sounds like you got lucky.

Was unaware FFR changed it. No way for the box to fit. Have you thought about the Breeze battery box for the front of the car?

Hey Bill, per our separate e-mail exchange (due to being a victim of the recent chassis change), I would love to help as I have the new chassis set-up that is not compatible with your current box and would REALLY love to mount the battery (hidden) in the trunk.

Unfortunately I'm in MA, but would love to help out any way I can.

I'm now back looking for another MK4 with the 2015 IRS option in the Northern Virginia area. JRcuz was incredibly helpful and is too far along in his build to help me.
