Hi all,

I did a dry fit of my steering column today and noticed some interference between the upper steering column and the 2" x 2" cross member.

I assume it's OK to space the pilot bushing up with some washers to give some space between the shaft and the frame ?

I'm sure this has been posted before, but my ability to search this forum is challenged at best.

Thanks,

Mark

Yes, it’s fine to raise it a bit. I have an 1/8” spacer under mine for the same issue.

Spacers washers show in the manual to go under the mount we go between every time. HTH, R

I actually spaced my column up using some flat bar stock - more so just to get the steering wheel where I wanted it in relation to my legs. I think it was 3/8" thick or so, but can't find a pic of it for some reason.

Thanks all.

I did use the same washer type between the bushing and bar (although one of the washers that came with the kit has some bumped form in it that I was not sure was intentional or a QC thing).

I like the idea of flat bar stock. Might convert to that.

Glad to hear this is common and not the result me doing something stupid ...
