Hey all! Well I guess it is time to pony up and introduce myself! My name is Brian Blackwell from Concord, NC, about 15 minutes outside of Charlotte. Since I was a teenager, I always loved the Cobra and have dreamed about getting my hands on one.
Looking to buy one this year! Finally :) I purchased a 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible in February of last year but it didn't diminish my quest for a Cobra. So now the Mustang is up for sale!

Look forward to learning more about the Cobra folks in my area!

Thanks

Brian

Welcome to the madness Brian.

I am in Mooresville. There are a bunch of FFR owners in the Charlotte area and a number currently under construction. If you are on Facebook join our local group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1835891613390906/ and keep a watch for our monthly breakfast on this thread http://www.ffcars.com/forums/25-southeast-region/589297-charlotte-area-enthusiasts-get-together.html

Welcome, Brian! You're at the beginning of a great adventure. Lots here on this and the other forum on the MK4 in all its variations. Spend a lot of time reading build threads to absorb as much as you can, and it sounds like you have the benefit of a lot of owners in your area. You won't find a more supportive and helpful group folks either in person or on line.

I'm in the middle of a MK4 build that got sidetracked for while, but I'm enjoying getting back to it. First time build, and I'm not exactly a lifelong car guy, but I've built enough to be able to meet my own standards most of the time, and know when I'm getting in deep water. And, when I'm tearing my hair out, there's plenty of help on the forum, both by searching, or if that fails, just asking questions.

Did a ton of reading, now I'm trying to fill in the the knowledge gaps by turning wrenches. Still fairly early in my build, but I left the detailed build spreadsheet and all the 'how much exactly is this going to cost?" questions long ago. Its a stage everyone goes through.

Cheers,

-- John
