I am at the point of buying the gauges for the car and it seems I have a choice of three resistance ranges for fuel gauges.
1) empty 240 ohms, full 33 ohms
2) empty 0 ohms, full 90 ohms
3) empty 73 ohms, full 10 ohms
Unfortunately the sending unit in my Donor tanks is
empty 33 ohms, full 145 ohms
Don't know what to do. Does anyone know of a solution for this?
Thanks
The Stig

Paul,
If you're using the sending unit with the stock tanks from the donor car, then the Autometer or current Gen-II gauges will for fine. If you switched the sending unit, you'll need to match the ohm rating for the sender to the gauge that you plan to buy.

What I did during my build in circumstances like yours is contact a specialty supplier, in my case Mustangs Unlimited (Georgia location phone 888-229-2929 - web:www.mustangsunlimited.com), and they provided me with the matching components I needed. Parts were shipped pronto and arrived overmight. Hope this helps. Best of luck.

First - Corral.net folks seem to think that the stock sender is close to what you are saying ... 22ohms empty 167 full. So I would hunt down one compatible with the 87-93 Mustang. Pierre's source knows Mustangs. If youo have picked the make and style - then contact the manufacurer, not all options are always shown on web pages.
Second - be sure that empty reads as close to accurate as possible, not knowing how full it is is much less important than knowing how empty it is . :)
BTW the follwoing link is the best I have found for diagnosing fuel sender / guage issues. Tuck it away.
