Last night I mocked up the installation of the Forte Hydroboost for my power brakes. When I temporarily installed the splash guards to the F Panel, it appears to have a slight interference. Saw older posts about this problem but hadn't seen any lately so thought it might have been corrected. Talked to Mike this morning and he says he's has modified it to be as short as it can be and hasn't heard of any problems lately with it interfering with the splash guards.

QUESTION: Has anybody recently installed the Forte Hydroboost setup and found that it fit without hitting the splash guards?

This is a common problem, don't know why Mike says he never heard about it. Simple fix. 4" dog water bowl from Walmart. Mark the elephant ear where the master cylinder hits, cut a hole and rivet on the bowl. My panel and bowl got powder coated and I'm going to spray on undercoating on the front side of the panel. Also, when to get to installing your brake lines, you'll notice it's like an AN fitting. It has a compression nut that slides onto the line first, then a sleeve, this get tightened onto the banjo fitting. Problem is, it needs a 37.5 degree flare. Brake shops won't know what your talking about. 37.5 degree flares are used in aviation. My mechanic cut my lines and made the flares. Worked fine.

Pretty common problem. My hydroboost did the same thing. Don't overthink it. Cut whatever access is necessary to clear the hydroboost unit, then cover it up with something. It will only stick through a little and there's nothing for it to interfere with. You could fabricate a small cover. Jeff Kleiner used to post a picture of one he did with a small metal dog bowl from PetSmart or whatever. Maybe he'll post it again. :p I wouldn't do anything though until you fit the splash guards with the body on. Then you'll find what the actual location of the interference will be.

Edit: While I was typing, I see Jorge posted another solution from Walmart. There you go...

Thanks Jorge for the pictures and the heads up on the fittings. Paul, I saw Jeff's dog bowl solution in an earlier post and and after seeing it on Jorge's car I think that's the way I'm going. Appreciate the quick feedback!

Hi Jorge,
The master cylinder kit I used a number of years ago was longer.
The Current master is shorter and YES I thought it cured the fitment issue. I see that the cure is a simple dog bowl? Very creative for a fix... I now will relay the fix to others looking for this option.
Thank you Jorge for showing how it's fixed. I appreciate this notice...
