I was fortunate enough to buy an unstarted complete kit from a friend here in town about 4 months ago.
He received the complete kit in 2009.
I ordered my Coyote engine package with Tremec from Forte's about 2 months ago.
I also ordered the Coyote Installation kit from FFR.
Over the Holidays; I got the bulk of the front suspension installed and the Wilwood pedal box.
I have been using both the MK III and the MK IV build instructions.
My question for the collective build gurus is this:
Are there some additional items that I will need for the build since I am using the Coyote in a eight year old complete MK III kit?
The kit was ordered for a 4.6 twin cam power plant so I think the engine mounts are still appropriate?
I saw a reference to a clutch actuator switch that I do not believe I have?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Also, anyone aware of a good build thread that has a similar path?
Thanks again,
Scott Mann

I apologize.
I am not sure why the spaces are not showing up correctly in the post. (especially after the word "I").

Have look at the drivers side foot box aluminum. This had to be modified by early Coyote builders and now FFR offers the pieces to allow the wider Coyote engine install.
Also, for the headers, go with the 4x1x4 headers by Stainless Headers. I think you can by through FFR also.

Thanks Dave.
I will check on the foot box aluminum.
The stainless 4x1x4 headers I was able to purchase from Forte as well.

Not aware of any build threads or posts putting a Coyote in a Mk3. But certainly should be doable. As already mentioned, absolutely get the latest Mk4 DS footbox panels. Likely it will be several pieces (not sure exactly) and may not be particularly cheap. But will make a big difference. Factory Five had mod motor sheet metal for the Mk3. But it took a big amount of your footbox space. I would strongly advise against using that older solution. Get the latest one. Provides space for the wide engine plus gives maximum footbox space. Your PS footbox should be OK. Your motor mounts also should be OK.

You don't mention which rear suspension you have. But the Coyote/Tremec combination should work with any. May require a different driveshaft length though.

Another question IMO is what pedal box do you have? Mk3's typically used a Mustang pedal box. They work great. Some prefer them over the current Wilwood pedal box. But your 2015+ Gen 2 Coyote (I assume that's what you have since recently purchased from Forte) requires a top and bottom clutch switch. They're in the Ford Coyote Controls Pack, which I assume you're also using. The Coyote installation kit from Factory Five includes brackets to mount these two switches to the Wilwood pedal box. Not sure how these could be used with a Mustang pedal box. Probably would require some new fabrication. For this reason, plus if you're interested in a hydraulic clutch, maybe consider switching to the Wilwood box if that's not what you have. But not an inexpensive decision.

Good luck. You'll love the Coyote. It's awesome in these builds.

Here is a post from FFCARs by RE63

"You need the Factory Five modular drivers side foot box. The MKIII came with this standard and the Windsor foot box was an option. The MK3.1 was the opposite, it came with the Windsor foot box and the modular box was optional. There is now a two piece unit that blends the two of these giving you more foot room and room for the Coyote. You will need to send a photo of the passengers foot box to determine if what you have will work. If it won't it will need to be changed as well.

The throttle pedal is included in the control pack and will need to be used since it is drive by wire.

This is a very doable install. I have put them in MKII and MKIV, but not MKIII, but the chassis will accept it just as the others have. The MKIII will not require moving the steering as the MKII did."

Joe touched on my suggestion---fire off a message to Ron (RE63 on FFCars, FFinisher here). He's built a bunch of 4.6 engined Roadsters, dozen or so Coyote powered cars and has repowered early Mod engined cars to Coyotes. He's knows all the nuances and will be about the best resource you'll find for what you're doing.

Thanks guys for all the responses.
These cars would not be nearly as much fun to build without the forum support.
I am running a three link solid 8.8 rear end.
I will take some pics of the foot box I have.
Thanks again..

That's a Wilwood pedal box. So forget what I said about the Mustang donor pedal box. However, that's the previous style clutch quadrant cable setup and you should get the newer design. It now drives directly off the clutch pedal vs. having that cantilever design. Those were trouble prone, plus isn't compatible with your Coyote switches. Or you can remove that older style quadrant completely and go with a hydraulic clutch. The switches can be made to work with that as well.
