After about six months of work, I was able to start my roadster. It is an GM LS1 with under car exhaust with spintech mufflers.

Congrats on your build, fellow potential dark sider here and have an engine mount question if you don’t mind. Which engine mounts did you use and did you have to cut/weld or fabricate any parts to get you LS engine to fit?

I’m just starting to organize my thoughts about a build using an LS engine and see Holly makes LS engine mount adaptor plates which bolt on to the LS block which then accepts the 4.6L ford engine mounts. I’m wondering if that is how you mounted your LS to the frame.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

JK,

I used fox body mustang ls swap mounts that allow a few inches of forward and back adjustment. I used the shortest Holley oil pan and used 1/2 inch spacers between the fox body mounts and the factory five frame mounts to get the oil pan even with the frame rails. The driveshaft is a factory five stock piece. I used a gm Tremec tko600. I had to fab an adapter plate at the tran mount as well. The only other fab was a clutch slave cylinder bracket since I preferred using an external slave. I used 5,3 truck shorty headers facing forward and fabbed the exhaust with spintech 2.5 inch oval pipe and square mufflers. I’ll update my build thread with pics soon.

You are welcome. Here is the link to the exact mount I used on the engine. https://metaltek-manufacturing.myshopify.com/collections/ebay-motors-parts-accessories-car-truck-parts-engines-components-motor-mounts/products/ford-1979-2004-mustang-ls-swap-brackets-w-urethane-motor-mounts-14070-usa-made

The trans mount was just a mustang energy suspension poly mount. I used flat aluminium plate under both mounts.
