Time to take the plunge
After reading the forums for years, I finally get my chance to build a roadster. Yesterday I ordered the complete kit and it's a little scary.
My plan
MK4 Complete kit
3-link rear suspension
coyote kit
Coyote Stainless 4 port Headers
Powder Coated Chassis
Body cutouts
power steering
wings
visors
chrome rollbars
modern gauges
standard front brakes
wipers
11.65 rear brake kit ?
Coyote
TKO 600
17" Halibrand wheels
Kirkey drag style seats
Quiet pipes

The car will be used mainly for cruising. I have limited time to work on the build so I'm trying to stay close to the stock build to keep it simple. I am not sure about the brakes, there seems to be a lot of discussion about them on the forum. Will the standard brakes work OK with the wilwood pedal box? In Colorado cars are required to have wipers but I wonder if there might be a simpler setup.
Thanks for all of the people that took the time to share their knowledge on the forum! Suggestions are welcome!

Jeff,

Congratulations on the purchase. I'm in Colorado as well and as for the wipers, the language only states that the car must have them and that they must be able to be operated by the driver. I opted for electric wipers, but I really think that you will pass the CHP inspection with a manually operated clamp-on wiper. You could always call the CHP directly and get their interpretation on the regulation.

Welcome! I missed this during the holidays, so welcome to the forum and to the big adventure. I'm build a MK4, which got sidetracked for a while but its good getting back to it now. I have the IRS option (older version) with the standard brake offering and the Wilwood pedal box. The two things are kind of separate...you'll get the Wilwood pedal box as the only option in the complete kit, and then you have a choice of the standard brakes or the Wilwood brakes. I chose the standard brakes for the IRS option, which are 11.65" disc brakes from the 94-04 Cobra, just as you chose for the 3-link. They work fine with some adjustments for fitting on the IRS rear spindles.

Cheers,
