Just did a pre-emptive order of my license plate since I found this was available - UNREAL. My wife agreed to let me order it and put it on her '67 Camaro until my Roadster is finished and titled, then we'll transfer it to my car.

You should move here - I can buy 100 plates and throw them int he corner until I want to use one :D

Here in Illinois, we can check availability of personalized plates on-line and then order them. I've checked for some that I've wanted in the past, only to wait too long and find them not available when I was ready to order. Worked out well that the wife's car has antique plates on it now - gives me the chance to lock this one up until I'm ready.

Chris:
This is good information to know. Given that mine is still registered in Iowa I am going to need to transfer that over and want personal plates as well. What is that link for checking online?

Tim - here's the link to the Secretary of State website for the on-line plate searches. If you go to the "specialty plates" section, you can often find just what you're looking for (unless you are looking for antique plates). I've found some pretty obscure plates that are taken in the more popular motif's before by doing that - for example: "P 51" for a Mustang I used to own - I found it available on the "support agriculture" plate even though it was taken on all the other types of plates.

Chris, Excellent choice! I say that because it was my plate when I built my roadster and lived in New Hampshire! It wasn't available when I moved back to Arizona, but they gave me a 4 digit 'historic vehicle' plate w/5 year tags!
Thanks,
Will
