speedhut tach wiring

On 11-14 coyote ECU tach wiring i have the tach signal wire and if i am understanding the instructions yellow wire to tach signal wire then splice resistor into same wire and other end to switched 12 volt.
Is this good to go or am wrong ??

Splice the yellow tachwire to the tach wire on the blunt end group of wires- no resistor- wire the lights and power /ground the same as all your other gauges
