I guess it depends on where you are located. But the question should be, what are you willing to spend. If you are like me you have spent countless hours laboring over your dream car. I know the question I heard most often was “when will you car be done, I can’t wait to see it.” I just got my painted body fitted and back on the chassis 2 weeks ago and I will share my experience and advise. I spent between 8K and 9K. Let’s say upper 8. I watched and sometimes helped (mostly tried to stay out of his way.) my body man reassemble my roadster. Having done so many roadsters over the years he knew all of the secrets of these FFR cars. He made modifications on the spot that makes things fit better.
So my advise for what’s worth is get your paint and body work done with someone who is VERY experienced in these roadsters. It may cost a few bucks more, or you may have to travel further to get it done but bottom line is when someone is viewing your car the first thing they see is the paint and body work. Jeff Miller did mine and I want him to do my next build. So worth it. Just my humble opinion.
