View Full Version : Harness Routing Through the Firewall

Is there any good alternative to using rubber grommets in the firewall and other places to seal the holes where the harness is routed? The holes are 1 1/4" and I would rather not make them larger. Anyone have a better solution? Thanks, Joel

Another idea is to use the sealed door jam bulkheads like on the Ford truck doors:

I'm using the American Wire bulkhead connectors that Papa shows in his first post. These are Weather Pack type and look very much like what you would find under the hood of any car and truck made in Detroit. I can highly recommend them as they are a robust design, easy to install, and look professional. But you do need Weather Pack crimpers when working with Weather Pack connectors to make the correct crimp. Yes you could use something else instead of the correct tool but it'd be like driving a nail with a rock.
