Pedal box issues

Attempting to install pedal box (from what we were told was an 04 Mustang) in a Mk4.

When installed thru holes in frame, my brake pedal is already partially depressed -due to the cross bar on the tubing.

Can anyone offer any help?

There should be 3 spacers in the kit that you use to move the master cylinder forward.

The other option is to buy or fabricate an adjustable pushrod.

I have a 1995 pedal box and it had to be modified by removing a piece of the mounting area at the front. Removing this piece moved the pedal box about 5/8 inch forward. The brake pedal arm will still contact the 3/4 frame cross member at the very top of pedal travel but does not cause the master cylinder piston to be depressed.

Does the 2004 box require the same modification and was it done?

So even though brake pedal is partially depressed, this causes no issue?

Exactly - so long as you get it to where the master cylinder is not partially depressed.

Brake pedal stroke is what it is - you should have plenty.

The master cylinder needs to be completely released (by moving the MC forward, or by using a shorter pushrod).

Mine is like that and works fine. I did attach a piece of 1/4 inch high density foam to the front of th 3/4 frame between it and the pedal arm. This stops me getting a metallic bang when I slide my foot off the brake and onto the go pedal.
