View Full Version : Gauge Needles

Working in a lightly lit garage the other day I noticed that the oil pressure gauge needle does not light, while all the others (not the clock as pointed out by Jeff K) do. I plan on checking the wiring today but I wonder whether others have found if it's a gauge problem, having speedhut repair it is the only solution.

The gauge lights but not the needle, which makes me suspect it's a gauge issue.

Try swapping the 2 plugs with another gauge and see what happens. That will tell you if its wiring or the gauge. Speedhut stands behind there products 100%

Thanks, I'll try that. Also, I am looking forward to your progress and comments on your gen 3 coupe build.

I ran without gauge needle lights for years before I rebuilt my car and fixed the issue.

Turned out I hadn't applied power to the block I was running the white needle power wires to.

HTH,

David,

I went your route and decided it's easier to get to the wiring when the body comes off for painting. Attempted to reach in the amongst all the wiring but decided not to bother. I just added it to the things I need to address when the body is next off.

Thanks.
