Hey, Guys. Now that I’ve retired, the T-Top project needs a new champion and that someone could be you! A great project and business opportunity.

This Auction starts today (11/27) and the price drops $100 each day for 30 days (ends 12/28).

Starting price, $4000 – Ending price, $1000. If not sold on day 30, I’ll mothball this project forever.
Particulars –
$4000-$3000, I crate and pay shipping to you (CONUS only)
$2900-$2000, I crate and you pay shipping
$1900-$1000, you pick up parts in Ocala, FL
$900, Auction over

First person to make a non-refundable deposit of 10% of the current price places the auction on hold and has five days to complete the transaction, otherwise the auction continues and the parts are back up for grabs. PP account is dawjratcomcastdotnet

What you get –

The one and only copy of the Tangent T-Top in primer. One set of professional molds to make more. Read more about the project here - http://tangentkits.com/The_Tangent_T_Top.html – Note, some hardware and production issues need to be addressed, i.e. seals, window latches, sliding windows – but I can help there.
You can put the top on your car and throw away the molds . . .
But you have the rights to build and sell parts from the molds. If you decide to produce tops/parts there will be a royalty per owner/car based on the final price of the auction.

Royalties
$4000-$3000, - $100 per
$2900-$2000, -$200 per
$1900-$1000, -$300 per

Tell your friends and let’s try to keep this project alive. Post any questions, PM or email me at above address. I’ll try to answer all questions quickly.

All the best, Don

You have only one top made, none have ever been sold?

How much interest is there in this top?

Hey, Just - a fair question. Seven years ago there was quite a bit of interest and there were about six builders that put deposits on a top. However after about 15K investment and many months of development I simply had to pull the plug and call it off. It is quite an undertaking to develop new products for these cars and my hat's off to the vendors that create new and unusual opportunities. I, for one, know the cost and time involved. That was (is) what Tangent was all about - creating new and unique kits for FF roadsters. We had a good run and Eric in NC is still carrying the torch. But sometimes we have bigger dreams than wallets. The one top that was produced from the molds was on and off my car for years before I retired and sold it - I kept the top and molds with hopes that someone would carry it forward.

The story is simply one of wanting to supply another option for a hardtop for these cars. Many in the northern states end up putting their cars away earlier than they wish due to weather. Many in the south want a break from the sun. And many want options in between. The T-Top answered many of these questions with great flexibility. Take the T-tops out and you have a sunny cruiser. Tops on and windows in and you're out and about in the cold. But this is the only top IMO that does all this in style. The few tops that are available for this car all have taken the same direction - they incorporate the roll bars within the top. Tall roll bars and a short wheelbase car end up making the whole affair look odd, again, IMO. We've come to accept it simply because of the few offerings. Our design is in front of the bars and takes a lower stance more in keeping with chopped top look. But, race day with a helmet? Take the tops out. And/or take the crossbar out. Or, take the whole thing off in 15min. The only part that stays on the car is the windshield halo - which is an improvement over the stock glass frame.

This project certainly suffers from the hype back in the day while it was being developed. Guys were eager to see the developments and naturally were disappointed when it didn't happen, my fault. But, as they say, make a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. This is a better mousetrap. If this project was taken to fruition I'm sure there would be as much interest as the other tops that are available - and there are damn few of those. Ask the guys on the forums.

All the best, Don

Very nice top. I don't have the time or skills to take over, but I wish you the best of luck in finding someone who does.

The top as designed is for a Mark I, II and maybe III's?
Royalty on the sale of the tops for how long? To be determined?

The top was designed on the MK 3.2, and should fit any MK up to that as well. However, when the plug and molds were designed they were made with an extension around the bottom edge that allows extra material on the parts to be custom fitted to not only later MKs like the 4, but also other brands.

TBD on the Royalties - negotiable.

As of today, the 9th, the price stands at $2800. A bargain, don't let this one slip away - you can be in business in one easy step and save thousands in the process.

In this round, between $2800 and $2000, I'll crate the items and you pay shipping. Below that you pick up in Ocala, Florida.

Merry Christmas to all. As of today, the 25th the auction price for everything stands at $1200. Wednesday is the last day with the going out price of $1000 at COB. Don't let this opportunity get away. We're in ridiculous pricing territory now - a once in a lifetime deal. Price is now pick up in Ocala.
