Hey Gang,
While this may not be the right place to post this, I'm going to post it anyway.
My oldest daughter (Megan / Age 27) suffers from ulcerative colitis and is not doing well.
To give you a little information about my oldest, she teaches 10th grade English, moderates and coaches the swim team at her school and is a Devout Catholic.
She's a dedicated wife of two years to her husband Nick who she's been with since the age of 16.
She also volunteers at the Aquarium of the Americas during her summer break and is involved with Autism Speaks as well.
In addition, Megan is a published children's book author and one of her books can be found at Barnes & Noble along with Amazon. (The Mermaid of Lake Pontchartrain)
Again, while this is likely not the best place to post this request, I feel like the Factory Five Family Members Have A Lot Of Faith so that's why I'm asking for your prayers.

Well said. I am with Bob. May God be all youll ever need and bring some good from this horrible ordeal. UC is no joke and I suffered from IBS when I was young and was very sick Thank God I got a healing. I mean a real to life faith healing. I have not suffered from it for decades. God is an ontime God. It may be tomorrow it might be much later in life. We never know whos path she is going to cross with this sickness and bring faith into someone elses world. The Word says he makes all things work together for our good.
God bless GDG.

Steve,
Absolutely will be praying for her! God is still in the business of miracles and my wife and I have seen many answers to our prayers! The Bible says that God is the same yesterday, today and forever!
Lord I lift Megan up to you right now and ask you to send your comfort and your healing in Jesus' powerful name!
I've seen you heal our son of his cancer and I have seen you heal my sister-in-law of severe neck/spinal problems that the doctors couldn't fix!
You are a good and loving Father and we ask this in Jesus' name for his glory and his alone!
Amen..
We will be praying here in CA, Steve.

Sorry I am a bit late to this thread, Steve, but I absolutely will keep Meghan in our prayers. To quote GearHeadKen, "God is in the Miracle business". Please let Meghan know that there are a bunch of people from all over the country who may not know her, but know God, and know that God loves her and is concerned for her always! May His angels fly even closer to Meghan and your entire family.
Kevin.
P.S. This is exactly the place for this request. You are our family, and Meghan by extension. When you rejoice, we party with you! When you are hurting, we are all there to help carry the load as best we can. Just ask!

1. I just got off the phone with Father Charles and he had no idea how rough of shape my daughter is in.

3. He'll also put her on his prayer list, but more importantly is watch list.

> In addition, please know that Megan was found to be with child, something the doctors think may work in her favor.
> From what we understand many times women with U.C. that become pregnant go into remission.

Update: .. I know this is information that I shouldn't share, but you all are praying for her so I wanted to let you know where things stand.
1. Megan had a proceedure today and things went well in spite of the fact that no anesthesia could be used since she is pregnant.
2. The doctor was pleased because currently she is not as flared up like she was when my prayer request was started.
3. She's about to complete the 1st trimester so today was great news to say the least.
4. All in all, Megan is improving and moving in the right direction.

GoDadGo,
Your family has my full support. Not just your daughter but your whole family. I unfortunately have both Crohn's disease and Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis which are very similar to UC, so I know what you are all dealing with. My families' support means everything to me and I am sure you mean just as much to her. I don't feel like my family gets enough credit, so I always try to recognize family members for supporting their loved ones who are sick. It is not easy. I have had a few really bad spells where my doctors had my family preparing for the worst and my family had to sit by feeling helpless. It was not easy for any of us and has shaped all our lives. However, my family gave me a reason to keep fighting and things have always gotten better.
Please try to remember that your daughter will bounce back too. There are ups and downs with this. It can be easy to fear the downs and be fixated on them but that is not a very good way to enjoy your life. With my wife, I came to realize what I want in my life and we going for it regardless of how easy or hard it is. It may be hard for a lot of people to understand, however, that is key. It is so easy when you have a chronic illness to start making excuses and saying what you can't do because of how much harder it is now. However, once you start doing that, you are passing up what you really want. What you want with your life is not really impacted by how hard it is to get. Only your willingness to do what is needed is impacted by how hard it is to get. I have basically decided that I am always willing to do what it takes and I have had a lot of success since making that decision. It has not been easy, but I am living the life I want to live. Your daughter can too. I think you may want to consider sitting down with her and having a talk about what she wants and how you can help her. I promises you it will mean a lot to her, even if she never actually asks for help. Another thing that will be hard for you and your family but will probably help your daughter is to be positive, upbeat, and energetic when she is not feeling well. Your daughter probably feels guilt that her sickness impacts her loved ones and that they worry about her. It can also depressing for her when she starts to feel sick again each time. I think having your family members in a good mood, trying to make you laugh and cheer you up can be a blessing when you are down in the dumps.
Sorry, I started just wanting to say I support you and your family and somehow this all came rushing out. If you or your daughter ever need someone to talk to about all this or want any advice on the medical side, please feel free to reach out to me at any point. I wish you all the best.
