Hi Everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving to all in the US

Is there a convention regarding the on/off position of dashboard toggle switches? i.e is up always off?

I am guessing that there must be a convention in aircraft/cars?

Thanks

Down is off, up is on, is probably the most traditional placement for toggles.

Well I have been doing a bit of research via Mr Google and it seems that the collective opinion is that Up is Off - for British cars anyway. The same as our light switches as well, so it seems the US might do things backwards??? The Romans marched on the lefthand side as well so it seems you guys have departed from that convention as well?

I didn't realize you meant for British car. I figured you meant for one with a reliable electrical system..:p

That being the case, better buy a jar of this stuff for the full effect..http://www.mgccsa.org.au/Registers/MGC/sep%202015/Replacement%20Wiring%20Harness%20Smoke.jpeg

Well that is the dilemma when building a hybrid car.......is it British or American?

Then of course I am building the car in the Southern Hemisphere............so maybe up is actually down?

Or maybe just left is right?......Does the gas go out of the tank clockwise, or anticlockwise?

Neither, it comes out through the top. And for the record it's counter-clockwise. ;)

Of course we have never been able to figure out why you guys call a liquid "gas"??

Really, your home light switches have up is off???? Something to do w/ being below the equator? Here the light switches are up is on so that is how I have the toggles in the cobra.

I've given this difficult issue a great deal of thought and have determined that the electrons flowing through these switches will be happy in either orientation. Good luck with your build.
