Is it "safe" to install the engine/tranny together using the carb flange plate? A 351W & a T5..

If you lift the rear of the car up a good bit it really to make it a lot easier to install the driveline.

Good Luck!

You can get an engine lift plate for less than $13 and struggle or get a Mac's articulating plate and make it a one-man job. Mac's Custom Tie-Downs 701001 - Mac's Engine Pivot Plates (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mtd-701001/overview/).

Or a cheapie engine leveler is a big help too; however, that Mac's piece is: Way To Cool For School!

I'd recommend using one or the other over the standard carb lift plate.

When we installed my eng/trans I used a 1 ton lift and carb plate with the front lower than the rear and 10-15 mins later were done.

The earlier crate Coyotes came with factory lifting lugs that bolted kitty corner to the cylinder heads. With them, an engine leveler for the hoist and the brawn of my oldest son it was a 30 minutee slide in and bolt down.
