Is there any consensus as to how/where to affix a front license plate on the coupe? I'd like to just ignore it, but I don't think that will be a viable solution in my jurisdiction.

Where in VA are you located? I want to say it is a $50 fine. Not saying that you should ignore it or anything, but I don't think its a points carrying offense.

EDIT: I think it's more than $50. Reading some conflicting things. Will have to do more research on this.

I used a Sto 'n sho plate mount on my SRT Challenger. Made by http://bigmikesperformanceparts.com/

mtwarog made a bracket that lets the plate pivot towards the radiator when driving allowing fresh air to come in. When stopped, it flips back up into the 'legal' position.

I was in Md for 7 yrs and have been in Va for 3 yrs and have never run a front tag. It's in the box in the trunk w/ the registration and insurance cards.

I did this. Screwed lower edge of plate to the body. Then bent upper edge upward about 1-2 inches, so plate is at an angle. When you stand 15 feet away, you can easily see it.

VA Supreme Court sets uniform fines throughout the state. For a license plate violation it's $25 fine and $51 court costs for a total of $76.

That's less than for unlawful riding of an animal at night. (The code doesn't specify which animals, so it must include your cat and the raccoon you caught at your garbage can.)

Thanks for all the ideas. I'll figure out something when the permanent plate comes in.
