Hi all,
I've read lots of posts about mechanical conversions from AT to MT and the necessary modifications, but have not seen discussion about whether the ECU (or TCU) will work. I would like to keep the stock ECU from my AT donor. Will there be a huge number of fault codes to deal with?
Anyone with experience on this?
Thanks in advance for any info.

I've used my AT donor ECU in my 5mt 818. I wired the car per the MT schematic. It ran and drove with AT flash with a few codes. I reflashed the ECU with a 5mt file. Everything works as expected.

Yes you can use it, but you'll need to make a couple wiring changes and then reflash the ECU to a map from a manual car using Opensource software and a Tactrix cable.
Edit: What Bob said.

Thanks both for the feedback. I'm hoping to have my donor stripped down over the winter/spring so I can buy the kit in the summer. Good to know I can use most of what I have.
