Has anyone put in motor mount shims to raise your motor? I need to raise my side pipes about 1”. The pipes are lined up with the chassis and level, however they are 1” lower that the 4” chassis tube. I know I will have make adjustment to pinion angle also. Not running J tubes so no adjusting there. Any thoughts?

You could use spacers but I think something else is wrong. And spacers may cause a problem w/ the air filter clearing the hood. That is somewhat common w/ 351 based engines because of the taller decks.

Just also posted on the other forum. Similar response as CraigS. What engine, engine mounts, and headers are you using? Something seems very wrong, and I personally wouldn't try to work around it that way. Find the root cause. Normally the side pipes are well above the 4-inch chassis tubes. So you're off more than just the one inch. Raising the engine that much might work, but could have other unintended consequences. Like hood clearance, bell housing and transmission clearance through the transmission tunnel including the shifter, pinion angle as you mentioned. Plus maybe others depending on your build.

Sorry to ask but since my engine is nowhere near the stock location, it has raised all sorts of issues that I've had to overcome.
One change in my build has created many issues that I've had to deal with so the point of my "Stupid Questions" is to keep you from Opening Pandora's Box unnecessarily.

Steve's Stupid Questions:

1. Where is the bottom of the oil pan compared to the 4" round tubes?
2. How much room do you have between the top of your carb and hood?
3. Where will the transmission output shaft be if the change is made?
4. How will this change impact your pinion angle of your differential?
5. Have you called Factory Five to get their take on the situation?
6. If an inch is all you need then have you considered getting a set of side pipe wedges from Mark Reynolds?
