I have a 351W Dart block going into my MK4. FFR says I need to use the filter relocate kit. It sure looks to me like I will have plenty of space without it. What is your experience with the same set up?

At the build school they used this 90 degree adapter instead of the relocating kit

I have a 347 DART block from Mike Forte and no filter relocation was needed. An extension was needed for the oil pressure sending unit.

Ok... if you are using the FFR headers you don’t need anything because there’s plenty of room. If you’re using shorty headers and a j-pipe the 90 degree adapter is best. The supplied remote filter kit is well...questionable.

+1 for the 90 degree adapter. Easy access too.

Ok, it seems the consensus of the senior members is, no relocate, I'll go with that. I agree, the relocate kit seems like a leak waiting to happen. Yes, I am using the FFR headers. That 90 does look intriguing though... On to the next puzzle, thanks everyone.

...I am using the FFR headers...
In that case, as Sten said you need nothing and can install the filter directly to the block.

351W, FFR headers, went in easy, tons for room for the oil filter, no problem.
