What mark Roadster? For an Mk4, it already comes with an interior trunk hinge setup and no reason to change or modify IMO. It works fine.
For earlier versions, this kit is available from Breeze: http://www.breezeautomotive.com/details.php?prod_id=588

Replicaparts makes a nice gas strut addition to the rear trunk, IMO.

Safe to assume the Breeze hinge will work on my MkIII with a MkIV trunk lid?

Maybe. I don't really know. But there's a pretty good chance the pads and rivnuts already installed in the MkIV lid won't align with the Breeze hinges. Who knows about the location of the pivots and the geometry. For that combination, I'd be inclined to look at using the FF Mk4 hinge parts and just adding the little tabs on the trunk hoop for the pivots.

Not without either modifying the lid or as edwardb mentioned modifying the chassis to accept the Mk4 arms.
