Over the weekend I worked on the mounting of my T56 at the rear mount. I found that the transmission mount provided in the kit fouled with the side of the transmission. So, not only did the holes not line up, but the arms conflicted. I fabricated a plate and located holes to line up with the T56. Basically extending the mount welded to the 4" cross member.
Setting the transmission about level with the differential causes the rear of the tranny to contact the 4" cross member. Has anyone else seen this? Raising the tranny to an acceptable clearance creates a distinct angle between the drive shaft, tranny and rear diff. Has anyone else left this angle and operated their car. Is an angle (lets say 15 degrees) harmful to the U joints?
