Hello everyone! I just bought a Cobra (I'm the 3rd owner) and can wait to tinker with it. I have a few things I need to address (Carbon filer, squeaks) but overall VERY HAPPY! Though I'm semi skilled (kinda backyard mechanic) I tip my hat to all of you who built a Cobra from the beginning.
Anyone in the Chicago area?

Welcome to the forum! I'm in Wheaton. Still building. Slowly. I hope you can get a lot of enjoyment from your car before the weather get ugly. Can you tell us more about your car?

Hi Al_C, I'm new to the forum and am in the planning phase of ordering a 33 Hot Rod from FFR. I will likely also sign up for the build class in February and complete before finalizing my order. I would love to bounce ideas off someone that has gone through this before or point me in the right direction... I know your building a Roadster, but its hard to find a Hot Rod builder in the area...I live in Darien, IL, not far from Wheaton and would love to see your project, if you have the time and be so inclined?? Send me a message if possible...Thanks!

dpariso,
Welcome! I just spotted this and know that car well; it was built by my good friend Scott Meyer. We communicated a lot while he was building and still stay in touch even after he sold it. If you aren't already aware Scott documented much of the build of this car on the other forum. Let me know if you need links and I'll post them up for you.
Cheers,
Jeff

Hello Jeff.
OMG! YES! The person I bought it from knows little about it. PLEASE put me in contact with Scott. I've tried contacting him from some of the 2008 receipts but he changed his number. Its a AWSOME car! I have a few Q's I'm hoping he can answer.

I only had about a month to enjoy my Cobra before the weather got too cold and the roads were salted. We don't live in a state that accommodates a car that has no windows, no roof... LOL
I'm hoping in the next couple months will be better. Let me know if you want to come up to Beach Park (near Gurnee) to look at mine for possible ideas for your build.

Welcome to the family! I’m just west of you in “driving country” 52,000 miles of smiles!
Hey AL. Hows your build going?
It's coming along slowly, but steadily. I need to wrap up the dash wiring and get the cooling system done and I should be able to do a first start. Hoping for some good weather so it's easier to work in the garage. Spring is finally here, so (in addition to baseball) it should be warming up! You're always welcome to visit Wheaton...
