It's been a great experience and I've learned a lot along the way. All I need to do is a front end alignment and get it inspected and titled. #622 is pretty much done. 351c, TKO600, 9" rear end. I thought I would be done late last year but some health issues kept me from doing much until a few months ago.

Thank you Factory five for your help.

That's A Killer Kolor!

That's not exactly how we spell down here in the South, but the "K" looked "Kool!"

Larry,

Fantastic job. Another one of those 40 posts to completed car guys eh? I had 1000 posts before my first FFR order!

We all take our own path; that's part of the fun. Congratulations, and well done!

PS Get some great glamour shots; we STILL haven't had a Hotrod POM!

Nice work, but I'd add safety pins to the doors. Not including them in the kit is a crime.

I'm working on coming up with a safety pin system that will fit in the doors with the power windows. I bought a set from Carolina Customs but they are too long. That and finishing a front nerf style front bumper are a few misc. items to do over winter.

By far the best looking full-fender 33 I have seen! Great job! I too purchased the Carolina Customs Suicide Pin Kit. Now, although my car does not have power windows or outside door handles like yours does, I wonder if you could sneak the pins into the same unusual location that I used? They work great. ERIC

I will have to check to see how much room I have there. That is a great location. Your safety pins look a bit shorter than the the ones I bought, are they manual? Mine has the electronic solenoids that can be wired to the ignition switch. Thanks for the suggestion.

Beautiful!!!! Love the fenders as well. And on that subject would it be possible to see how you mounted the front and back fenders?? I just posted this and would really be interested in how you did them. The more I can do in advance, the better especially since I am just starting my build! Anything you would share is deeply appreciated, TY!

Like this too! Will be looking at doing this as well, will be more comfortable with a system like this on the doors. The car inspectors will most likely require this as well. TY!

Congratulations! Great Job. Suicide pins should be in the kit for sure. Even if your door latches are done correctly, a passenger will inevitably not get the door fully latched eventually or if you drive hard the body will flex and release the door. Been there, experienced it, got lucky. The stops on the hinges can generally be a little taller also as the door can "climb" over it with enough encouragement. I used small diameter lock washers under the Hex head to raise them up a little.

Enjoy your ride!!

Mounting the front and back fenders was pretty straight forward. At the time I bought the kit I did not get instructions with the full fender option. That may have changed by now. We did a bit of tweaking on the back fenders. We shortened them a bit and corrected a few imperfections that is typical with most fiberglass that comes out of a mold. We did add some reinforcement webbing on the front fenders to make it a bit stiffer. The biggest challenge was the running boards. They come with no support brackets and will not support someone standing on them. We felt that would be problematic unless we reinforced that with metal brackets underneath. I think most of the posts I have seen with the running boards did some sort of reinforcement. We also made the side panels into two piece units so we can access the engine to change plugs or oil easier. The Cleveland engine is a little wider than a 302, so getting to everything from the top is a bit tight.

Great build looks great I cant get mine fast enough but I have to wait till next year. I noticed you put in a 351 did you have any problems with it as far as installation because I have my 351 just collecting things as I go so when my kit gets here I can go to work and not have to wait on anything. Sharp ride. What transmission did you use on the 351?

I had a few issues using the 351 Cleveland motor. It would have been quite a bit easier going with a 351 Windsor motor but I already had this really nice Cleveland sitting in the garage that I figured I would try to use. The motor mounts and bell housing is the same as the 302 /351 Windsor but getting off the shelf headers to fit without going with custom made units was my most difficult issue. I used a Tremec TKO600 5 speed transmission. Great transmission.
