Anyone have a good solution for getting Sharpie ink off of powder coat without dulling the finish?

WD-40 or any light weight oil will do in most cases with a little rubbing.
Acetone pulls it off too, but will soften the powder coating.

I have to preface my comments by the fact that I have not tried this solution...

However, Eastwood offers a powder coat polish. I was thinking about using this to do a final clean on all of my powder coated panels when I get finished to freshen them all up before my final reveal. It states that it cleans and polishes. Fairly inexpensive option to try, it's on sale now:

Perhaps worth a try for you; I hope this helps.

Steve

I'm a big fan of Goo Gone Spray Gel. It does a pretty good job of getting many things off and I haven't found it damages any of the finishes we have. Cleans powder coated surfaces really well. You may have trouble getting permanent marker ink off the powder coat without damaging the coating. But this stuff will do as good as any, and won't harm it. Make sure to look specifically for the gel variety. For whatever reason I've found it works the best. Widely available at Home Depot, Staples, Walmart, etc.
