I'm sure this has been brought up before, but bare with me. I have a high torque starter for my 429 in my roadster kit. The starter has a solenoid on it. Do I still need to connect to the small connection on the starter coming from the 'S' terminal on the remote solenoid. I've looked at numerous schematics and some do and some don't. Thanks for the help. Nick.

This is how it should be wired. This is from Ford instructions for upgrading to the new style starter

It can be done without the remote unit. I do not ever use it myself on any of my builds.

I've wired mine as Craig shows it. Works like a hot damn.

The remote solenoid was a standard part of the build, back a few years ago, when typically donor harness's were being used. It also offered a good 12V hot source, to connect accessories, etc., rather then a junction block. It also prevented starter run-on.

Thanks gentlemen. Worked like a charm.
