I have spent today reading every post in the wheel/tire forum and I am still confused.
I want to put 255/40/18 tires with 18x8 wheels with 45mm offset on the rear of my 818s.
The tire is 26" in diameter. Is that too large? Will it rub?

I am successfully running 255/40/17 tires with 17x9 wheels with 30mm offset.
To keep them from rubbing I'm running street ride height with driver and passenger sitting in car. OEM trailing arms.
Also running 500 rear spring to lower travel and body roll.
Everything is tight clearances. To go any bigger, I would look at fender flairs.

PS: In this picture you can see my cold air intake in the side scoop. I think this is important as the air in the engine bay can be much hotter.

5x100 Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35 with 245/40/27 Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec (works in the rear with about 10mm of space from the trailing arm. No other fitment issues. Don't work in the front at all).
5x100 Enkei RPF1 17x8 +45 with 225/45/17 Blizzak WS80 (these do not work well in the front as they hit the sway bar end links, and fender liners).
5x100 Enkei RPF1s 17x8 +45 front, 17x9 +35 rear with 215/45/17 Falken Azenis RT615K+ and 255/40/17 Falken Azenis RT615K+ fit well, front tires rub at full lock with and without a 5mm spacer up front.

https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Use this tool to compare sizes. It was helpful for me to try/error on sizes.

225's on 17X8 and 265's on 18X9.5 40mm offset
had 235/40X17 on the front (BFG R1s) on the front, the tires did rub under hard braking and high load corners.

What wheels are you running? Is your car wrapped?

I have not purchase wheels yet. That is why I am asking the question. I have purchased tires, which were at a great price that I could not pass up. The rears concern me because of the diameter being 26 inches. I am pretty sure I will be ok up front, but the rears concern me.

Yeah that question was for Six Star.

I realize this thread is old. But I feel the need to share this site: http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

I find it very helpful when ever I am considering a change in tire/wheel size.
