Question to the guys out there who've done their own tear down. How in the heck do you get the brake power booser off? Obviously I know you go through the footbox and contort yourself like a pretze to get in there. I can reach the bottom bolts - but cannot figure out how to get to the top 2 bolts of the booster in the footbox.
Take out the steering column? Remove the seats to allow better access?
Appreciate ideas.

TOLD YOU SO! :) It's even more difficult on a completed FFR Roadster... I waited until I had removed the steering column, seats, etc. until the booster came out. In fact, I waited until I had removed the dash too. If you're going to leave the interior in tact so that you can sell it, you're going to have to stand on your head and get in there to get it done.
As you can see, I disassembled the interior quite a bit before I took the pedal box out. The brake booster is still there at this point too, but I should have just left the brake booster and bought a new one, or used this one for a core.

just get 4 to 6 different sized extensions, possibly a swivel too and just go in from afar, you don't need the swivel i believe but i could be wrong. just extend yourself back with extensions till your about out of the dash and below the steering wheel, just fish it in and hit it with a air rachet, keep turning till your sure its off before releasing the trigger so you wont have to fish it back on........HTH .....Steven
I plan on using a cutting torch to the firewall.

Yup, long extension from under the steering wheel. I can usually fish a booster out in under 30 minutes and not even crack the hydraulic system open. Last one took me two hours though, as I was upgrading to a '94 Cobra booster and had to modify the firewall bolt pattern and dimple the shock tower a little, but man, such better braking!

Dang that was tough. But I finally got the 4 bolts out. double length socket extender + 90 degree spinner, got it out. Thanks for the tip riptide & Musung Man.
Next : Master cylinder & distribution block. I believe all I need to harvest is the master cylinder and distribution block. Planning to just cut the brake lines going down and remove a wheel to get to the distribution block bolts. Chime in guys if this is a mistake.
Yep, I'm a newbie - you guys are laughing now.

I have to agree with Joe's post earlier on this one. After gutting my doner 90LX and starting my build, I am coming to the realization that the only things I will likely be using from the doner will be:
Gas tank and straps -spent hours grinding off the rust
Rear end - spent way to much on gears and a rebuild
T-5 trans - could have bought a new one for the price of my rebuild
302 - haven't touched it yet but you can see where this is going...
Hindsight is 20/20 but if I could do it over I would go with the complete kit. I did however take a macabre delight in destroying an otherwise good car!
