View Full Version : Fuel return on Boyd tank
I have the Boyd tank with an in-tank pump, I am running EFI (coyote). My question/concern is this: The fuel return line back to the tank is a pre-welded bung for a 6AN fittting on top of the tank. Will this cause a problem with "foaming" or "airation" in the tank? Any one that has used a similar set up had problems or made modifications?

A proper setup is a 3/8" or 1/4" pipe thread, with a tube or hose, routed to the bottom of the tank. Are you sure that there isn't a return fitting on the large flange for the fuel pump?

This is what my tank looks like. Maybe I am mistaken but, the brass fitting is for the vent?, and the open hole is for the return line? Please correct me if I am wrong. If I am correct, the return hole has no tube and will drop fuel in from the top.

I assume that the brass fitting is a vent with roll-over valve. The other bung should also be a pipe thread. You can buy a tube with whatever pipe size this is to use as a return.
It's also good to have a 3/8" vent hose from the top of the tank to a location very close to the top of the gas filler. It will insure that you can fill the tank quickly without burping fuel.
