Just wanted to drop a public thank you to Gordon Levy.
Friday night I realized that the throw out bearing on my motor had failed. I believe this was due to a faulty clutch fork (prongs were slightly bent and not holding the bearing and pivot ball correctly) as well as potentially my pivot ball not being properly adjusted.
I reached out to Gordon via email late Friday night and was instantly provided with all of the part numbers through Summit Racing that I would need to fix the problem (throw out bearing; clutch fork; new pinion seal for tail shaft of transmission - separate problem). At the same time he saved me hours of time telling me how to get this done the quick way rather than overthinking it as I was clearly headed.
About 15 months ago I first fired up the 408 I purchased from Gordon and I have been overwhelmingly happy with the decision to make the purchase. At that time I burned some frequent flier miles and had Gordon come to town to be present to not only tune the motor in but also dial in all of the other stuff (notably the suspension) I have purchased from him over the last 18 years.
List includes:
* 408 Stage V motor complete with carb, ignition, etc.
* Gordon's Levy Racing Big Radiator (motor is running about 5 degrees cooler than it used to)
* Super Alloy T-5
* Clutch, bell housing, flywheel, etc.
* Five link rear end
* Wilwood brake set up
* Street bump steer kit
* Koni adjustable shocks
* Driveshaft
* Many misc. parts required to narrow the rear axle and replace the front control arms when I did the pin-drive conversion
Thank you Gordon for all your help. It is really appreciated.
