I don't know what this is, probably knew once as I had it powdercoated.

Looks like up front, it could be a FFR or Breeze part.

Thanks !!!

Looks like the filler panel Breeze supplied with their hood hinge kit. Fills the gap between the top of the radiator and the curve of the body hood opening, if using the Breeze hood hinges.

Edit: Ignore this wrong information. See correct identification from Jeff Kleiner in the next post.

It's the bottom piece of the 3 parts that go in the nose between the radiator and body.

Missed that one by a mile. Of course that's what it is.

Yes it's the lower rad support from FFR. The front gets riveted to the lower opening in the front of the body (discussed in the build manual). The two cut outs can be used if you are running a oil cooler.

Don't worry Paul, 3540/3541 is still a pretty good batting average.

My batting average isn't nearly that good. Trust me. But I appreciate the sentiment. Thanks.

Spaced more than usual on this one. Strange because I know those pieces well. I didn't use them on any of my builds and they're right here in my scrap metal box.

I haven't found it in the build manual and don't know what the other two pieces are either. Dave Howard is the curved edge the front?

The three pieces in question are visible in this picture from the other forum. http://www.ffcars.com/forums/5596090-post12.html. This was the best picture I could find quickly. It does look like this builder trimmed the ends off the horizontal piece, but you get the idea. The straight edge goes along the bottom of the radiator. The curved edge under the lip around the body opening. The instructions show installing rivets through the body. The other two pieces go along the sides of the radiator with curved sides toward the front. Note the body needs to be on before installing these pieces.

Mike Everson sells a nice curved piece that replaces the three parts. I've seen several builds with this part in place and it looks good. http://www.replicaparts.com/Roadster%20aluminum%20panel%20page.htm

I have Build manuals for base kit (Revision 3M) and complete (Revision 3X). In the base manual it's pages 393-401 and complete pages 342-350. right before carpet. in both versions.

Edit: Which is a WEIRD place to have it because it's BEFORE the final body mounting section... Oh well.

my complete kit manual is version 3A, april 2010.
in my manual, just before carpet is final prep and roll bars. no pics of front eng
maybe it was omitted from that manual, possible the first version

That's correct. The upturned edge secures the bottom of the rad. The large radius curve fits in the front on the body. It is riveted on the inside edge of the bottom of the rad opening in the body. The other two pieces go up under the front of the body on either side of the rad. Put some bulb seal on the curved section of these pieces and it will seal again the underside of the body. This helps direct air through the rad....not around the rad.

OK, I am using the breeze lower radiator support so that lower support may be redundant. I doo see the need for the side pieces though, not sure what the noytches in them are for, they look like they would fit 3/4" rails.

OK, Found it here is the results.

The front nose and side Pieces fitment are NOT in the Hard Copy Manual manual that I have, Version 3A, April 2010 ( I suspect version 1) This is the manual that came with the Kit.

I did luckily save backups of my updates from my old computer before it crashed.

In looking at this full update it is called "Mk-4-roadster-complete-manual-rev-t"

In the Final assembly section
the first section has pages 351 thru 359 dedicated to the front nose and side pieces.

This pic is the ONLY reference to nose in my manual.

Thanks all, case closed !!!

The notches are to clear the heads of the front overrider bolts.
