Someday I Suppose

4 1/2 years ago I picked up my kit with a 16 foot box truck rented from Budget in Providence. Drove the truck out to Warham picked the kit up, and drove home with the biggest grin on my face. Over those four years the build had it's ups and downs, changes to the registration rules in NJ, deciding to start a family, two amazing little girls later and lots of work, the car is finally done. I can't thank all the friends and family who gave support over the years, it sounds so cliche, but indeed it was a dream for me to own a C-Car one day and today that dream is a reality for sure.
Sappy stuff aside, some details...
MKIII kit, IRS, 3:55 gear ratio with a Levy Alloy T-5 transmission. Paint was done by Metal Morphous is CT, Ron is a great guy to work with and I am more the pleased with the job his crew did on the car.

From the front, I loved the tangent light kit since I saw it and love how it looks on the car. The bars were powder coated black satin with the front edge polished a bit to go with some other details on the car. The aluminum around the radiator was a copy of some of the other guys out there, but it is covered in 3M dy-noc carbon fiber for a little different look.
Another photo from the front, I thought the flag in the background was more then fitting given the weekend.

Rick from Loadstone Billetworks did all of the powder coating on the car, that includes quick jacks, roll bars, valve covers, hinges, and of course the knock offs. We may have gotten too crazy there Rick coated the well of the knock off in crinkle black and the rest of the knock off is black satin.

You may have already seen some mention of the fenders, they were flared out for a bit meaner look. I also did a drop but mod on the car, and have the non-perky trunk the Karl Gess had made available for a short while. I really love the way it looks from this angle.
I am done monkeying with the engine for now... it is a 408W built by Jeremy Anderson out of North Carolina, super nice guy and was really willing to work with me and play with different ideas.

I have to mention the air cleaner, I had some trouble getting the dual carbs to fit under the hood and ended up with two small rounds fitting. In kicking around ideas with Rick I mocked up an over top that I had and thought it was a cool look. From that I was able to get a friend to do a cad drawing, and then David Borden was kind enough to do the machine work for me. The cad file took a bunch of re-work and I can't thank David enough for all the time and effort he put into it.

Ron did his signature Metal process under the hood, no one but Ron knows the real process, but it is an aluminum that is sprayed onto the hood and not paint.
Last I needed to throw in a close up of the bezels...

Rick at Loadstone again did these for me, they are hydroprinted with a carbon fiber image and then clear powder coated on top of the hydro. The shift, e-brake, and steering wheel bezels all got the same treatment.
I think that is about it... for now...
