Ladies & Gentlemen,
I'm getting ready to build my J-Pipes and have a simple question because the temporary mufflers will be coming off and the side pipes will be going on.

My game plan is to have them sit about 1.25" - 1.75" above the bottom of the 4" frame rail tube so they don't scrape.
At what height do you all have your side pipes sitting in reference to the bottom of the main 4" frame rails?

I didn't measure the height above the bottom of the frame but I'll get a measurement for you this weekend.
I concentrated on having them sit level and centered in the opening:

This leads to then sitting above to bottom of the frame, again not sure by how much...
BTW Breeze sells shims that really helped set up the passenger pipe. Not sure if it will be applicable to you though...

Steve mine actually ended up slightly below my 4" frame rail and are the low point on the car sitting just below ride height. The low point of mine are 3.75" from the ground. I find if my nose clears the pipes also clear. My steepest challenge is getting onto the ramps on my lift but I clear no problem now. After the first 1500 miles I found my car had self lowered a bit caused by what I assume was the springs compressing a bit after some use. I adjusted the ride height and am back to where I started at a ride height of 4".

Steve,
I did the same as Mr. Hodgkins. Tried to center the pipes in the opening, keep them parallel with the ground and not be the lowest part in the car. The last thing I wanted was to have the car bottom out on an expensive sidepipe. Guaranteed that would destroy the pipe or header. The frame has to be to lowest part of the car. My pipes wound up being 1" above the bottom of the frame.

Thanks Jeff.
I just hope the Factory Five pipes are quieter than my temporary go-kart mufflers.
