View Full Version : Hood Finishing ideas underside where scoop hole is.

Looking for ideas for finishing the raw edges where the cutout for the hoodscoop is. I think a U channel may work but not sure how it will look. there seems to be 2 plies of fiberglass that is NOT laminated together alsso.

I bond the two together and then finish just like the rest of the body.

You are correct that there are two layers. I fill the gap with 3M HSRF with the layers in their relaxed state(do not try to pull the them together):

After it cures I knock the boogers off then fill and smooth with Rage Gold giving a small eased over radius to the edges all the around top and bottom. Here's one finished; if you zoom in on the opening you'll be able to see it better:

I used this stuff. It fit over the two plies and is secure. Working very well. Took 2 minutes to install.
