Guys,

Below is a photo of my Wilwood master cylinders. These are the older type that you see in the build videos. Unfortunately I has lost the F5 supplied banjo bolts and eyelets. The bolt is a 7/16X20. The eyelet is a barb fitting. Does anyone know a supplier who can provide these items or does anyone have some extras they could send me.

Thanks,

Damien

Didn't use mine. Happy to donate them to a good home...

Call up Wilwood. They have 'em all. Pretty sure you can get banjo's with nipples, or -AN fitting type. I swapped out the nipples for the -AN's.

A word of caution: When you fit the 7/16 banjo bolt into the M/C housing, make sure that it does not bottom out. It will cut off fluid flow, and worse case will destroy the M/C if you torque it all the way down. In the picture, you can see that there are different length bolts, different heights of the 'banjo' fitting, and different widths of top and bottom washers. Plus, the cavity is not that deep in the M/C. So one combination may only be screwed in a thread or two, and another combination will bottom out. There is a fine line there to fit into.

Don't mind helping out a cobra brother. Plenty of folks here have helped me out along the way. Just trying to pay it forward.

That said, if I had it to do all over, this is what I'd use rather than a banjo fitting.

Had some difficulty with leakage at these connections because the sealing surface on the banjo fitting was about the same diameter as the ID of the crush washer. Ended up using the copper washers pictured below, but I can already see some galvanic corrosion between the steel fitting and the copper washer. The Wilwood fitting uses an aluminum crush washer on a big flat surface. Don't think it would leak, and no dissimilar metal corrosion issues, either.

The barb fitting sealed up well on mine, but I could never get those crush washers to stop leaking. I found these and have had no leaks since.

Boat 737,

What are those banjo fittings you show in your 3rd photo. The eyelets look like they have barbed fittings. If they do, those fittings should work for me. What are they and where did you get them? I was on Wilwood but didn't find any barbed eyelets.

Thanks,

Damien

I got those direct from Wilwood. They are AN-03 (part no. 220-11565) banjo fittings (not nippled), which I retrofitted to, and that go to the CNC reservoirs. If I remember right, I talked to Joshua, but I'm sure anyone in there tech or parts dept can help. As I noted, I had to play around a little with the bolt length and washer thickness to get the right depth of the bolt, but they are working perfectly. No leaks or problems.
