Kit just came yesterday and started the inventory. Couple questions
1) The box numbers don't seem to be in the order in which they are going to be build
2) In some boxes are items without part numbers....this leads to major confusion
3) Just out of curiosity, why is the fiberglass body RED?

Hello!

1) Yeap. They indicate that the boxes are in some way related to build order, but I've found that to not be the case either.
2) You'll have to figure out what they are. You can winnow down what's not there, and go through what's not numbered and usually account for everything in all of the boxes.
3) Red gelcoat. I think some of the older ones used to be black. Maybe it's just a different process or supplier used these days.

Red Gelcoat. I recall a story where Dave S stated they changed it from black to red because paint shops where intimidated by the black Gelcoat and that jacked up the Painting price to finished the car. Not sure if that's true but that's what It think I heard.

Different color bodies represent different versions of the mold.
There was gray body, black body and now red body. Every time they make improvements to the mold the color changes so they can tell what generation body u have.
At least that's what I was told when I picked mine up.

The first few bodies were actually blue. I remember going to an Open House hosted by Ralph Littlefield back around 2002 and his coupe body was blue. His beautiful # 98 is now owned by Mark Schlegel.

Congrats on the coupe Eugene.
Don't worry, the more you put on the car, the easier it gets to indentify other parts. Post pics of what you don't know, and people here will surely help you out.
Good luck

You should have seen the grey ones if they thought the black was bad.

a) How do you post pics?

B) any suggestions on taking the inventory? this is looking to be an interesting process. Some inventory sheet different status for the same part number. I guess I just have to plow through it and see what comes out????

It went white, black, gray, black and red with the very short run of blue. The blue was mostly first gen coupes. The white were really bad as well as the first gen black.

General recommendation was to get a photobucket account, and copy/paste from there. But now they make you pay to third party post.
On the thread you have a blue and green square up top next to the film strip. You can upload pics from your computer there.

As far as the inventory goes, that's the process. Start with one box and start marking. Keep track of stuff that isn't there, and don't freak out until you have gone through all of them.
