I am using the GPS gauges and an MSD 6AL ignition and am confused about the tachometer wiring...help please!
Yellow from the tachometer per the instruction is "negative coil / tach output"...where should this wire terminate?
I have the purple (coil to tach) going to the grey tach output wire of the MSD ...is this correct?
The MSD instructions are clear in that on the orange and black wires are the ONLY wires connected to the coil.
thanks in advance for the help...

Do not put anything on the coil except the orange and black wires. The tach output from the MSD box goes to the input signal of the tach.

Ok, but where does the yellow from the tach go? That's where I'm confused.

Speedhut directions say yellow is neg coil / tach output. Yellow from the tach goes to the grey tach output on the MSD. Purple coil -> tach is not needed.

It is if the other end of the purple goes to the yellow tach input.
Do not attach anything yellow, purple or grey to the coil. Orange and black only.

So I need to undo the purple to grey and take the yellow from the rear of the tach to the grey! Just blank off the end of the purple? thanks

Speedhut Yellow to MSD grey, thats the ticket. Purple just becomes a dead wire, shouldn't be connected at either end to anything.
I'm working on wiring up my Speedhut's, too. Dont have an MSD in this car, but have run several in the past. The Mustangs required a Tach Adapter to work with the MSD.
